What is Global Warming?

Related imageBasically, global warming is a small increase in the overall temperature of Earth's atmosphere. Caused by rising levels of carbon dioxide, the greenhouse effect and other pollutants.

What about Climate Change?

Related imageClimate change is a change in regional or global climate patterns. This would normally mean changes in how much rain a place receives annually or it could change the usual temperature of a place in a certain month.

Have You Ever Asked Yourself...

What would happen if all ice on Earth melted?

According to National Geographic, if this were to happen, sea level would rise 216 feet, completely changing the world's coastlines. Looking something like this...

What Consequences do Global Warming & Climate Change bring us?

            • More frequent and severe weather
            • Higher death rates
            • More acidic oceans
            • Higher sea levels

There are many ways you and your family can do this, I have found that these are the most effective ways to reduce climate change.

1) Reduce and reuse before you recycle

What are Extintion Rates ?

Extinction Rates are how often species go extinct in a specific time-frame Consequences  - Species go extinct faster with the evergrowing demand of humans - Some ecosystems might be affected by the loss of species - Species that we don't know of could be affected by the loss of a certain species (factory expelling toxic fumes to the atmosphere) Human Activities are the Main Factor of Extinction aside from Global Warming and Habitat Loss How is this Affecting Guatemala? The Abronia Campbelli Human Activities (building roads, urbanization etc.) have eliminated the little lizard's habitat & the Abronia was considered extinct because of habitat loss or habitat fragmentation. We'll get into fragmentation in the next post. (The Abronia Campbelli in its natural habitat) Recommendations  Raise awareness!!  Try not to pollute because we can affect habitats in the worst way possible Don't hunt animals in danger of extinction li...
